As promised I am bringing you a simpler paper piecing tutorial for flying geese.

Click the the picture above to get the printable.

It is designed to make a 6in x 6in finished block. You can print it out as many times

as you like if you would like to make multiple blocks and join them. I will show

you how to do that as well.

Sew a Pillowcase

Make a pillowcase along with me. I used 3/4 yard striped fabric cut to 24 inches or 61 cm and 1/2 yard of mario fabric cut down to 12 inches for the band. My trim piece is 1 1/2 inches or 4cm.
You can use 3/4 yard of fabric which is 27 inch or 68 cm for the main fabric and 1/4 yard of fabric which is 9 inches or 23 cm.

You can watch the video here.
Here are are links to a few of my favorite tools I used in the video.

Lay out the pillowcase band fabric face up and pin your your trim piece that has been ironed in half (wrong sides together) and then layer the right side of the pillowcase fabric and pin together.

Now roll up the body of the pillowcase fabric into a roll and pull the band fabric around it and pin it to the pieces you have already pinned.

Trim the edges, I use the rotary cutter and ruler. I am going to use a french seam to hide the stitching on the inside of the pillow case. First sew the pillowcase together with the wrong sides facing together. Use a 1/4 inch seam or smaller.
Turn the pillowcase inside out and sew a 1/2 in seam or just large enough for your first seam to hide inside the seam.

Sweet Pleat Zipper Bag Free Pattern

You will need 2 Fat Quarters and a 9 inch zipper. I used a rotary cutter and mat but you don't need that you can use scissors. Cut out two of the bag pattern on the fold for the outer fabric and two for the lining. Cut out 2 zipper tabs out of main fabric and two out of lining. Then cut out one strap piece on the fold in which fabric you would like the strap. I used a contrast fabric for mine.
